The town of Přerov offers its inhabitants and visitors a wide range of sports activities in both sports facilities established by the municipality and in private sports centres. The inhabitants of the town can utilize services of the winter stadium which serves not only to the ice hockey team of Přerov, but also to a large public for skating. When the air temperature drops below zero degrees, the inhabitants of Přerov can make use of the frozen pond or the frozen "Lagoon" natural swimming area. Smaller children and adults too utilize snowy banks and the Přerov Gulch Area lying not very far away for sledding. You could set out on bike to see the vicinity of Přerov on cycle routes in warm months. Even in the town, you need not be afraid of the transport, because the town centre is interwoven with a netwotk of cycle routes which allow a safe biking in all directions.The cycle routes are also very popular with in-line skaters. The asphalt path along the Bečva River having an overall lenght of about 20 kilometres and leading as far as the town of Lipník nad Bečvou also offers pleasant skating.
Přerov is also known for its persisting tennis history. You can find a large tennis area with 25 courts not far away from the town centre and a number of smaller tennis areas. After having played tennis, you can relax in the swimming area which - besides an indoor and outdoor swimming pool - offers additional services, for example sauna, pearl bath etc. Just opposite the swimming area, the large TJ Spartak Stadium is situated where besides football grounds even an athletic field is provided. Another stadium, the SK Přerov Area is located near the winter stadium and there are - besides a football ground - tennis courts and a volleyball ground in addition. One of the fitness centres which exist in town is situated just here, in the adjacent building. Besides particular benchpresses & exercise bikes scattered all around the town, there are also several sports centres offering their services "under one roof", i.e. bowling, sauna, squash, badminton, various exercises, massages, spinning etc. Přerov is known among motorsport lovers above all owing to the Přerov Gulch Area where championships of the Czech Republic as well as European championships are held. The "Přerov Gulch Area" with its "Mammoth Jump" is considered to be the best autocross race track in Czechia.
On the other hand, if you would prefer to spend your day just relaxing, visit the "Lagoon"Nature Swimming Pond Area situated on the outskirts of the town, on the right bank of the Bečva River. Young rebels will be enthusiastic about the skatepark designed to train skateboarding, roller skating and acrobatic bikes. Young sportsmen will appreciate the obstacle fun boxes, mini ramp, small and big radiuses, Langer, "A" etc. Adrenalin sport lovers can try a bicross track on their BMX bikes. Children can visit areas of four restored and supervised school playgrounds. You can further visit a number of traditional sports events which take place in town all year round. Besides the said traditional sports matches (ice hockey, volleyball, handball etc.), some atypical sports contests, e.g. the dragon boat racings etc. take place in town. The town of Přerov offers a wide range of sports activities for both adults and children. And if you are just not keen on active sports, you can visit various sports events as guests.
