A Late Gothic-style mansion house with Renaissance elements situated in the place where initially the castle stood was rebuilt in the 16th century and served as a residence of powerful noble houses - the Houses of Pernstein and erotín.
The mansion house is situated in the Upper Square which belongs with its Gothic& Renaissance-style and partly Baroque-style houses to the town´s historic core. High medieval town walls surround the whole square.
At present, Comenius Museum is located here. A visitor can see permanent exhibitions of the museum, occasional thematic exhibitions and moreover chamber music concerts take place in the atrium of the mansion house. There is a beautiful view of Přerov and its vicinity from the 43 metres high tower.
